Brain Health
Really? Is it REALLY possible that what we eat can promote brain health? On the other hand, is it LIKELY that what we eat can harm our brains? Simple answer is yes. More than ever, we have good data suggesting that certain foods can promote cognitive function (i.e. how well we think) and reduce our risk of dementia.
Of course let us not over simplify: how diet impacts health is a complex interplay of many factors, including lifestyle, genetics, and overall nutritional intake. Some things like genetics you can’t control, but what you eat you certainly can.
Anything we eat that can improve blood flow will improve function across all organ systems. What to do in general; eat REAL food (eliminate highly refined and processed foods), eat less and move more (like a 15 minute walk after a meal), and love more (i.e. stress management).

Heart Disease - vascular, coronary or peripheral vascular disease.
It all begins with damage to the lining of the arteries which we call the endothelial cells. The problem in one word: FAT. Even the best EVOO from the hills of Tuscany can hamper the ability of blood vessels to dilate. This results in decreased blood flow to all tissues that rely on blood flow. That means EVERYTHING.
Help your vessels dilate and stay free of cholesterol and fat that can clog arteries with plaque. If it breaks causing a clot to form, or progresses to a complete blockage, a heart attack, stroke, or amputations can occur.

Help my Prostate Please.
For men, or anyone that likes men, or anyone that know someone with a prostate.
As we get older, our prostates do too. Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) affects about 50% of 50 and 80% of 80 year old men. And it ain’t so benign if you are on a long drive, have to urinate many times per night, or - hum, can’t wear white pants if you know what I mean.
There are specific food that have been tested head to head (no pun intended) against prostate drugs with equal results but without the side effects.

Inflammation
All diseases are associated with inflammation. It IS a good thing when something happens, like the swelling of a sprained ankle, but can be detrimental when it lasts too long. We call that “chronic inflammation”.
A whole food plant based diet can help douse the fire of inflammation and may decrease the associated symptoms.
